Printed sheets with domestic wallpaper motifs in 1:72 scale. They serve to cover the inner walls of buildings on a diorama, that is where the inside of a structure is visible through a window, a door or a gap in the wall.
In 1:72 scale a doorway two meters high comes out at barely three centimeters and a window a meter twenty wide at roughly a centimeter and a half. The wallpaper pattern is therefore visible only in a small cutout, and the viewer takes in the overall tone and the density of the artwork rather than the individual motif. That is precisely why the printing is prepared for this size: a pattern carried over from a larger scale would look like nothing but a few colored blotches in a window.
