An injection-molded plastic kit of the single-seat MiG-21FL supersonic fighter in 1:72 scale from the Czech maker Kovozavody Prostejov. The box contains gray plastic sprues, clear parts for the cockpit and a decal sheet with several marking options. The model is meant to be glued and painted.
The MiG-21FL was the export version derived from the MiG-21PF variant. It was a day interceptor with a delta wing and a turbojet engine, armed with guided missiles and able to reach twice the speed of sound. This version spread widely among a number of foreign users and was also built under license, which makes it one of the most widespread fighters of its era.
Glue the parts with thin modeling cement for plastic. Apply a primer before painting; an airbrush is the recommended tool for an even coat over metal and camouflage surfaces alike. A gloss varnish under the decals makes them settle more easily and prevents what is known as silvering. Fine engraved panel lines can be brought out with a thin wash.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
