The Westland Lynx is a British twin-engine multipurpose helicopter with turboshaft engines and a rigid rotor head, which gave it a reputation as an exceptionally agile machine. The naval version serves from the decks of frigates, where it helps to hunt submarines, to track surface targets and to carry loads between ships. Because of operation on a small deck it has a wheeled landing gear and folding rotor blades, so that it fits into a ship hangar. The designation Mk.88 belongs to the machines delivered to the Marineflieger.
In this scale the diameter of the rotor comes out at roughly eighteen centimeters, so the finished helicopter fits into an ordinary display case. The list of parts and the color schemes offered are given in the manufacturer's instructions. The designation Modelset means that the package is prepared as a complete gift: besides the kit it tends to be completed with a basic set of paints, a brush and glue. The manufacturer gives the exact composition on the packaging.
Start with the cockpit and the interior; after the fuselage is glued you will not get inside. The glazing on a helicopter is large and a great deal is visible through it, so mask it before spraying and glue it with a glue for clear parts. Align the rotor blades into the same plane while the glue has not set, otherwise asymmetry is apparent at first glance. Apply the color in thin coats, so that you do not clog the fine surface detail.
