A plastic kit of the German Panther tank in 1:72 scale from Revell, which allows the early Ausf. D version, or the following Ausf. A, to be built. It is a classic injection-molded kit with a decal sheet for two different wartime configurations. The model will please collectors of German armor as well as diorama builders.
The Panther was a German medium tank developed in answer to the Soviet T-34. It combined a long 7.5 cm gun with a high muzzle velocity, markedly sloped armor and good mobility. The Ausf. D was the first production version, committed in 1943 (at Kursk, among other places), and it still carried early design features. The following Ausf. A brought a range of changes - a new turret with an improved commander's station and the removal of some of the teething troubles of early production. Panthers fought on every front until the end of the war.
Assemble and paint the running gear with the wheels and tracks before you cover them with the fenders. For 1943-1944 a three-color camouflage sprayed with an airbrush works well, together with a unifying filter, washes into the recesses and pigments for dust and mud on the running gear. Zimmerit, the anti-magnetic paste, did appear on some Panthers - its texture can be suggested if it matches the configuration you have chosen.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
