The RA-5C Vigilante was an American carrier reconnaissance aircraft derived from the A-5 attack machine. It was a large two-seat twin-engine type with a high-mounted wing, which served with the US Navy and was operated from aircraft carriers for photographic and electronic reconnaissance. The combination of high speed and size made it an unusually impressive machine and among modelers it is popular precisely because of its striking silhouette. It stayed in service until the end of the 1970s.
First wash the resin parts with lukewarm water and detergent, so that they are rid of mold release residues. Cut the casting blocks off with a fine saw or a cutter, sand the faces down and protect your airways while sanding. It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue); on larger parts a type with a longer setting time is useful. Apply a primer before painting. Carrier machines of the US Navy of that period are often built in a gloss white and gray scheme, on which a fine wash and restrained emphasis of the panel lines show up well.
