A set of two 3D-printed (resin) S-24 external stores with APU-68 launch rails in 1:72 scale from Quinta Studio. It is not a model in its own right but an accessory for a model — an accurate replacement or addition to the external stores on models of Soviet and Russian attack aircraft (the Su-25 Frogfoot, the Su-17/22 or the MiG-27, for instance). The set is generic, conceived for all kits.
The S-24 is a heavy unguided rocket of large caliber (around 240 mm) with a destructive high-explosive fragmentation warhead, meant against ground targets — fortifications, vehicles and exposed personnel. It is hung on and fired from a single-arm launch rail, the APU-68. For its caliber and range it was among the heavy weapons of Soviet and Russian attack and fighter-bomber aircraft.
First wash the parts free of mold release agent and carefully separate them from the casting blocks. Glue them with super glue (cyanoacrylate) — ordinary plastic cement does not hold on resin. Protect your airways while sanding. Apply a primer before painting and spray the colors with an airbrush in thin coats; the contrasting color bands on the warheads will reward careful masking.
This is an accessory for a model, not a model of an aircraft. The model itself, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
