A combined package of cast accessories for the Spitfire Mk.Vb in a small scale, in the form with a flat flared exhaust outlet. An accessory for the Eduard kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
An exhaust stub flared into a flat shape appeared during production and tends to be a guide to when an aircraft left the line. For a modeler that means a choice right at the start: either this shape or the older round end from the parallel item. Both forms hold the same range of parts, and only the subject decides. A photograph of the particular machine tends to be more reliable than a profile drawing, because illustrators sometimes standardize this detail.
The Mk.Vb was built in enormous numbers and today serves as a textbook example of a machine that got absolutely everywhere. It flew from England on escort missions over the occupied mainland, from desert bases in Africa and from improvised strips in the Mediterranean. Units adapted it, clipped the wingtips for better agility low down and added filters against sand. This variety makes the Mark V an inexhaustible subject.
A kit is not included; the package serves to complete one. In the end an old truth holds: the sooner a modeler decides which machine he is building, the fewer parts are left unused in his drawer.
