Short-run injection-molded plastic kit in 1:72 scale from the Ukrainian maker UM (Unimodel). It captures the early variant of the T-34 of 1940 with the cast turret and the short 76.2 mm L-11 gun. The box contains molded plastic with link and length tracks and photo-etched extras. Early T-34s are less common on the model market, so this version will please collectors who want the first form of the tank.
The T-34 became one of the most significant tanks of the Second World War, combining sloped armor, wide tracks and a powerful engine. The 1940 form carried the short 76.2 mm L-11 gun, soon replaced by the longer and more effective F-34. You can tell the early machines by the characteristic cast turret, the layout of the hatches and the placement of the external fuel tanks.
Before you glue the hull together we recommend assembling and fine-tuning the running gear and the link and length tracks; with short-run molding, clean the parts up first. Glue the plastic with thin modeling cement and the photo-etched parts with cyanoacrylate. Over the base protective green, use a wash in the recesses and pigments for mud and dust effects on the running gear; pick out the edges and the worn metal gently.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
