This resin detail accessory is NOT a model of a submarine but an accessory for a plastic kit of the German Type VII submarine in 1:72 scale. It captures the winch and the gear used for topping up torpedoes on the open sea, when a torpedo was lowered through the deck hatch into the hull. It is an exterior detail that brings the deck of a submarine to life when a resupply situation is being shown.
It makes it possible to build a striking scene of handling a torpedo beside a submarine on the surface. The accessory suits the deck areas and is well suited to dioramas. A basic kit does not usually hold this particular working scene.
Wash the mold release off the resin parts, cut off the casting blocks and glue them with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Wear respiratory protection while sanding. Bring out the metal elements of the winch with a dark wash and a light dry brush, and complete the deck with dust and rust shades.
This is an accessory for a model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
