The plastic kit 1:72 Westland Lynx Mk.88 from the firm Revell captures the shipborne version of the British multirole helicopter.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is a plastic kit of a helicopter in 1:72 scale from the German firm Revell. The Mk.88 version is the naval shipborne form of the Westland Lynx as the Marineflieger used it under that designation. The model therefore fits into a collection of shipborne machines as well as among European Cold War vehicles.
The Lynx was created in Britain as a multirole helicopter with remarkably good agility – in its land form it served the army, while in its naval form it took part in antisubmarine work and reconnaissance from the decks of frigates. The shipborne versions are recognizable by their wheeled landing gear, folding rotor blades and equipment for working over the sea. The machine became famous for its briskness and stayed in service with a number of countries for decades.
On helicopters in this scale the cockpit can be seen well, so finish it and close it up first. Mask the glazing and spray it together with the fuselage, so that the frames are the same shade as their surroundings. Leave the rotor blades loose until the finish is done – they are easily knocked. A gloss intermediate coat comes before the decals and a matte one after them, or the carrier film will show.
The helicopter is sold as a kit to be assembled and sprayed, without tools or shades.
