The set brings a 3D printed resin replica of the heavy FAB-1500 aerial bomb complemented by the UMPK module, that is by folding wings and a correction unit, in 1:32 scale. It is not a model of an aircraft but an accessory for the underwing armament. The print holds the thin surfaces of the wings as well as the definition of the tail section.
The FAB-1500 is a high-explosive fragmentation aerial bomb of the fifteen hundred kilogram weight class. The UMPK module turns it into glide munition: after release the wings deploy and the unit corrects the trajectory by satellite navigation, so the bomb reaches considerably farther than in free fall. The combination is carried by Russian tactical bombers in present-day fighting and it has fundamentally changed the way old bombs are used. The aircraft does not have to enter the range of the defenses over the target.
First wash the 3D printed parts in warm water with a little dish soap, so that they are rid of the residue of printing resin. Cut the supports off with a sharp blade or a fine saw as close to the part as possible and sand the marks down with your airways protected. Resin does not bond with cement for polystyrene, so use cyanoacrylate glue. Lay a thin coat of primer on before painting, otherwise the paint holds poorly on a smooth print. Assemble and paint the weapons separately and glue them onto the pylon only once the varnish has dried, so that the fine surfaces are not rubbed.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
