OFAB-100-120 aerial bomb, 1:48 is a 3D-printed resin replica of the Soviet high-explosive fragmentation aerial bomb in the 100 kilogram class in 1:48 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The set holds a 3D-printed resin replica of the Soviet OFAB-100-120 aerial bomb in 1:48 scale. It is an accessory for the external stores, not an aircraft model. The print holds the smooth body, the thin tail surfaces and the suspension lugs, which an injection mold inevitably thickens.
The OFAB-100-120 is a Soviet high-explosive fragmentation aerial bomb in the one hundred kilogram weight class and one of the most widely used munitions of tactical aviation. The small size made it possible to carry several on a single multiple ejector rack and so to hit more targets in one pass. It was used against troops in the open, equipment and lighter structures. In photographs of attack aircraft with a full load of stores it is usually seen in fours.
Wash the 3D-printed parts in warm soapy water first, to get rid of any print resin residue. Cut the print supports off with a sharp blade or a fine saw as close to the part as you can and sand the marks away with respiratory protection. Resin does not bond with polystyrene cement, so use cyanoacrylate glue. Apply a thin coat of primer before painting, otherwise the paint will not hold well on the smooth print. Assemble and paint the armament separately and glue it to the pylon only once the varnish has dried, so that the fine surfaces do not get rubbed.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
