A set of Vallejo model paints from the Air War Color Series line, put together for the Soviet and Russian finishes of the MiG-21 fighter from the 1950s to the 1990s.
Responsibility details are not available.
The MiG-21, under the NATO reporting name Fishbed, is a Soviet single-seat supersonic fighter with a delta wing. It was produced from the end of the 1950s in extraordinary numbers and in many versions, served in the Soviet Air Force and the Russian Air Force and was exported to dozens of countries. Over those several decades its outward appearance went through a great change: from the smooth surface without camouflage on the older machines to the later camouflage schemes.
The set gathers the shades that appeared on Soviet and Russian MiG-21s across the span from the 1950s to the 1990s, so you are not hunting the paints for one model down one at a time. It is intended for models, not for drawing or art work, and it suits building this type in any scale.
Shake the paint properly before use so that the pigment settled at the bottom is stirred up again. Handle thinning and the way it is applied according to the manufacturer's instructions on the label, and spray several thin coats rather than one heavy one. A smooth surface without camouflage is demanding on preparation: every scratch and unsanded joint stands out under it, so it pays to spray the surface with a primer first and check it.
The set suits anyone who builds a MiG-21 in Soviet or Russian colors and wants the shades together. What is being sold are the paints; the model, thinner, brushes and an airbrush are not included, unless stated otherwise.
