This injection-molded plastic kit in 1:24 scale from the Japanese company Tamiya captures the works rally car Toyota Celica GT-Four (the ST185 type) in the configuration of the winner of the 1993 Monte Carlo Rally in the team's Castrol colors. The model faithfully conveys the car's tarmac rally stance, the mesh screens in the bumper, the underbody air channels and a well-worked interior with a roll cage and sports seats. Additional long-range driving lights for night stages and decals for the works Toyota Team Europe cars are enclosed.
The Toyota Celica GT-Four ST185 was one of the most successful Group A cars in the World Rally Championship of the early 1990s. It was powered by a two-liter turbocharged inline four-cylinder engine with all-wheel drive. In 1993 the works team fought for the title with it against Lancia, Ford, Subaru and Mitsubishi, and at the opening Monte Carlo Rally it managed to win.
Glue the parts with thin cement for plastic. Build the white base of the body over primer and paint it with an airbrush - pure white is demanding in terms of coverage, so choose thin covering coats. Apply the striking Castrol livery decals over a perfectly glossy base so that the large decals do not wrinkle; then seal them with clear varnish. Finish the bumper mesh, the roll cage and the additional lights only after varnishing. Glue the glazing and the lights with glue for clear parts.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
