The set contains a 3D printed resin replica of the K-36D ejection seat in 1:48 scale. The manufacturer intends it for the various versions of the Su-24 tactical bomber. It is not a model of an aircraft but a replacement for the seat from the kit, which tends to be coarse and simplified.
The Su-24 is a tactical bomber with a crew of two sitting side by side, so there are two seats in the cockpit and they are clearly visible under the glazing. The K-36D form belongs to the proven Soviet second-generation series, which became famous for its reliability even in extreme conditions. The identifying feature are the deployable stabilizing booms and the protective shields against the air blast. With a two-seat cockpit, careful work on the seats therefore shows all the more.
First wash the 3D printed parts in warm water with a little dish soap, so that they are rid of the residue of printing resin. Cut the supports off with a sharp blade or a fine saw as close to the part as possible and sand the marks down with your airways protected. Resin does not bond with cement for polystyrene, so use cyanoacrylate glue. Lay a thin coat of primer on before painting, otherwise the paint holds poorly on a smooth print. The seat comes out best after drybrushing on the edges and after the harness straps and the handles have been painted in a different shade.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
