A resin K-36D-5 ejection seat in 1:72 scale from the Russian brand Temp Models. This is the version associated with the Su-35 and Su-57 aircraft. In a small scale the seat is the only piece of the cockpit that is really visible under the canopy, and the plastic version tends to be coarse and without belts. It is not an aircraft kit but a replacement part.
The K-36 family of seats belongs among the most successful designs of its kind and it has been through several upgrades over the years. The versions intended for the newest machines have a modified shell and a reworked restraint system, so as to suit a wider range of pilot weights and higher speeds when leaving the machine. On a model the individual versions differ mainly in the shape of the headrest and in the routing of the belts.
Release the seat from the supports with a new blade and level the surface underneath it. Wash the resin in lukewarm soapy water before painting. Spray the base shade, lift the edges with a dry brush and darken the recesses with a tone. Paint the belts in a different tone and suggest the buckles with a fine tip; they are what makes the greatest impression in a small scale.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
