The Khibiny jamming pods for the Su-34 1:32 are a 3D printed resin set of pods of the electronic warfare system for the wingtips of a model of the Su-34 in 1:32 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The set contains 3D printed resin pods of the Khibiny electronic warfare system of the kind the Su-34 carries at its wingtips, in 1:32 scale. It is not a model of an aircraft but an accessory for the external equipment. The print holds the smooth surfaces of the casing as well as the small covers of the antennas and the cooling intakes, which a mold simplifies.
Khibiny is a Russian onboard electronic warfare system, carried on the Su-34 in a pair of pods at the wingtips. It picks up illumination by a hostile radar and answers it with jamming meant to degrade the accuracy of the guidance of anti-aircraft weapons. For a two-seat tactical bomber that works within reach of the ground air defenses, this is key equipment. In photographs of machines in combat service the pods are always clearly apparent.
First wash the 3D printed parts in warm water with a little dish soap, so that they are rid of the residue of printing resin. Cut the supports off with a sharp blade or a fine saw as close to the part as possible and sand the marks down with your airways protected. Resin does not bond with cement for polystyrene, so use cyanoacrylate glue. Lay a thin coat of primer on before painting, otherwise the paint holds poorly on a smooth print. Number the small parts before you cut them off the supports, because once separated they are easily mixed up.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
