Kh-25MP guided missile, 1:48 is a 3D-printed resin replica of the Soviet anti-radiation air-to-ground missile in 1:48 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The set holds a 3D-printed resin replica of the Soviet Kh-25MP air-to-ground guided missile in 1:48 scale. It is not an aircraft model but an accessory for the external stores. The print holds the thin surfaces of the fins and the shape of the seeker head, by which the versions are told apart.
The Kh-25MP is the anti-radiation version of the modular Soviet Kh-25 family of air-to-ground missiles. It homes passively on the emissions of ground air defense radars, so the aircraft does not have to illuminate the enemy with a radar of its own. It serves to suppress the defenses before other machines arrive and was carried by tactical aircraft including the Su-17 and the MiG-27. It is exactly the shape of the seeker head that sets it apart from the other versions.
Wash the 3D-printed parts in warm soapy water first, to get rid of any print resin residue. Cut the print supports off with a sharp blade or a fine saw as close to the part as you can and sand the marks away with respiratory protection. Resin does not bond with polystyrene cement, so use cyanoacrylate glue. Apply a thin coat of primer before painting, otherwise the paint will not hold well on the smooth print. Assemble and paint the armament separately and glue it to the pylon only once the varnish has dried, so that the fine surfaces do not get rubbed.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
