A resin Kh-59MK2 guided missile in 1:72 scale from the Russian brand Temp Models. The resin print manages the long body, the folding surfaces and the intricate rear end. It is not an aircraft model but a separate store to be hung under the wing of a finished model.
The Kh-59MK2 is the newest member of the family and differs from the older versions in shape as well: its body has an angular cross-section that cuts radar reflectivity, and the lifting surfaces unfold only after release. The missile heads for entered coordinates and in the final stage finds the target by itself, so the carrier can release it from a considerable distance and withdraw at once. On a model you will recognize it precisely by that unusual angular shape.
Release the long body from the supports on a flat work mat so that it does not bow. Sand the marks down with fine paper and wet sand, with respiratory protection. Wash the parts in lukewarm soapy water before painting. Pick the edges of the angular body out with a faint light tint, or the shape will be lost in a photograph. It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue).
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
