A resin set of landing gear wheels for a Su-27 model in 1:48 scale from the Russian brand Temp Models, carrying the suffix 3D in its name. With that suffix the manufacturer tells the set apart from the other wheel set for the same aircraft, which it also makes. The parts are printed in resin and are meant to replace the wheels from a plastic kit, on which the parting line of the mold shows most.
The Su-27 is a heavy twin-engined fighter whose main landing gear legs retract forward into the fuselage and whose nose leg goes under the cockpit. The tires are small for the size of the machine and carry a high pressure, so they settle visibly on the ground. The service versions differ from one another in the details of the hubs and the covers, which is the main reason why makers of accessories offer more than one wheel variant for a single type.
Cut the print supports off with a scalpel and sand the spot, so that the wheel sits square to the leg. Wash the parts in lukewarm soapy water and let them dry. Paint the hub and the tire separately and handle the transition with a masking ring or with a patient brush. A very dark gray suits the tire; pure black kills the detail at this scale.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
