A saturated blue from the water-thinnable acrylic range of Japanese manufacture. It serves as a shade in its own right and as a starting color for mixing.

A blue with no admixture of green or violet belongs among the so-called pure shades, which the manufacturer keeps in the range mainly as a starting material for mixing. On its own it sets the color on airliners, sports cars or toys; mixed with white it gives a sky, while a touch of black turns it into a dark navy blue.
The binder thins with water, so there is no pungent smell and the brushes are rinsed out right after work. The range's own thinner slows the drying and lets the coat flow out over the surface better, whereas water alone works better for brush painting than in an airbrush. The matured film holds on plastic and on photo-etched metal and will take careful masking with tape.
The pigment in this shade tends to settle at the bottom, so after it has stood for a while turn the jar over and stir until the thick sediment disappears from the bottom. It mixes well with the other paints of the same range; when combining it with materials of another type, first test it on an offcut of plastic, because not every binder tolerates the company of another.
The dried coat will take light polishing and serves as a base for filters, washes and later drybrushing.
