This is a book, that is, a printed publication, not a model or a set of paints. It came about in cooperation with the kit maker ICM, whose name it also carries in its title, and it concentrates on one particular group of subjects: trucks from the period of the Second World War. That is a theme discussed markedly less often in modeling literature than tanks, even though trucks make up the majority of the vehicles on every larger diorama.
A truck is weathered differently from a tracked vehicle. It has no tracks to spray mud along its sides, but it does have tall wheels, a flat cargo bed, wooden and textile parts and far more painted areas, on which every mistake in the transition of shade shows. On top of that, the load bed is scuffed by the cargo, not by the terrain. Anyone who carries a procedure over from a tank to a truck unchanged will get a result that comes across as improbable.
For modelers who build military vehicles and dioramas and want to move on from a uniform coat to a surface with more depth. A basic knowledge of working with a brush and an airbrush is assumed; the book is not a manual for complete beginners.
This is a printed publication. Paints, tools and a model are not part of it.
