A set of eight shades for machines of the Japanese Army Air Force from pre-war production to 1945. It also holds a translucent green imitating the aotake protective lacquer and an aluminum tone for surfaces left without covering paint.

The collection is aimed at machines of the Imperial Japanese Army Air Force, from pre-war production right up to the last year of the fighting. It captures the period when the factories there moved from polished duralumin without a covering coat, through a uniform green on the upper surfaces, to the hastily sprayed blotches of the end of the war.
The list features dark green, olive green, khaki brown, dark beige, gray-green and its lighter counterpart. The series is closed by a translucent green imitating the protective lacquer called aotake, with which Japanese works treated internal metal structures, and an aluminum tone for surfaces left without paint.
The range matches machines such as the Nakajima Ki-43, Kawasaki Ki-61, Nakajima Ki-84 or the Mitsubishi Ki-46 reconnaissance aircraft. The Japanese Army Air Force had its own coloring standards separate from the Imperial Japanese Navy, so these tones cannot be interchanged with the shades of carrier-borne aircraft.
These are water-thinnable acrylics ready for application with compressed air. Shake the bottle thoroughly before work, degrease the surface and even it out with a base coat. Lay the layers on thinly and let them dry properly, otherwise the fine difference between green and khaki, on which Japanese schemes rest, will be lost.
The package carries only the shades, not a primer, thinner or varnish. Reckon therefore with still needing a covering varnish to reach the matte surface typical of late Japanese production, and for chipped places a fine brush or a piece of sponge comes in handy.
