Responsibility details are not available.
A model of the title giant robot from the 1977 Japanese animated series Mechander Robo. The plastic parts are injection molded in several colors and fit into one another, so the robot looks good even without painting.
The series belongs to the wave of so-called combining robots: the main machine is formed by joining several separate machines of a crew defending Earth against an alien army. The robot has an angular build, a prominent chest shield and a rich armament including a sword and a large rocket. The chest shield was one of the most striking features of that whole generation of robots. The design of the 1970s returns today in a more accurate plastic rendering that keeps the original silhouette but adds finer engraved detail.
The robot has a number of joints, so it can be posed dynamically; before you snap the arms together, think about how it will hold its weapon. The colored plastic can be left as it is, but it pays to even out the sheen with a matte or satin varnish so the surface does not look toylike. Apply the decals onto a smooth varnished surface and press them down with a decal softener.
It is supplied unassembled on sprues; it is not a finished product.
