A resin set of landing gear legs for a model of the MiG-29 fighter in 1:48 scale from the Russian brand Temp Models. For the sets in this series the manufacturer states printing from a strong polymer reinforced with steel pins, and the extended position with the lines, the landing lights and a fender picked out. Plastic legs sag in time under the weight of a finished model; here that problem falls away. It is not an aircraft kit but replacement parts.
The MiG-29 has a nose leg with two wheels set well back under the air intakes and protected by a guard against thrown stones, because operation from less prepared surfaces was reckoned with. The main legs retract into the fuselage. On a parked machine the landing gear legs are full of hydraulics, struts and wiring and a viewer looks them over from every side.
Release the parts from the supports with a scalpel and level the mating faces. Wash the resin in lukewarm soapy water before painting. Spray the legs before you fit them and then bring the lines out with a dark tone run into the recesses. A faint oil weep around the shock strut and dust on the lower parts will lend a leg credibility.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
