Behind the number FS 34227 is a light, slightly grayed green. It is best known from the Israeli Air Force, where it formed part of the three-color scheme of Kfir aircraft, together with sand and brown. The tone is so light that, compared to typical military greens, it looks almost pale, and that is exactly what gives a model its characteristic desert look. It also suits training squadron aircraft that adopted similar light combinations.
The paint dries to a semi-gloss finish, which is an advantage before applying decals. The bottle holds 10 ml. The binder remains a nitro lacquer and cannot be thinned with water. The correct thinner comes from the same line; the leveling variant additionally slows drying and lets the surface settle.
Light tones cover less well, so it is worth laying down a white or light gray base underneath. Over a dark base, the green would need more coats and would lose its subtlety. Apply it in several thin coats with a short pause between them. The sheen can be toned down with a matte base from the same line, but add it in small amounts, since a larger quantity lightens the shade.
It is best to apply this paint before the darker components of a scheme. A light tone is hard to spray over a dark one, while a darker shade goes on over a light one without trouble.
