Mr. Color earth gray (2) is a flat lacquer paint from Gunze in a 10 ml bottle, intended mainly for spraying with a gun.

Field gray accompanied the German army from the beginning of the twentieth century and is more a family of tones than a single shade. This variant is noticeably subdued, with a perceptible green undertone, and it suits infantry uniforms, canvas covers, crates and other equipment where a pure gray would look dead. The number two in the name distinguishes the shade from the older, slightly differently pitched version of the same color.
The Mr. Color line is a solvent lacquer paint, although it is often listed among acrylics. It is thinned only with thinners of the same brand, and the ratio ranges between one and two parts thinner to one part paint according to consistency. The bottle holds 10 ml. The dried film is hard and smooth and takes polishing and later decals well.
The manufacturer intends the paint for an airbrush and does not directly recommend brushing it. If a brush cannot be avoided, add about a quarter of the volume in retarder, otherwise the individual strokes will not merge. The surface stays flat; anyone who needs gloss under decals applies a clear coat separately. The paint has to be stirred thoroughly before work, as the dense pigment sinks to the bottom.
On fabric the shade behaves differently than on metal: it pays to lighten it a little, because cloth scatters light and looks paler than the paint in the bottle.
