A plastic kit of the attack helicopter in 1:35 scale from Trumpeter. The model captures the two-seat attack helicopter AH-1W Super Cobra of the US Marine Corps. It is an extensive kit with a large number of parts on several sprues, with a detailed cockpit, rotor head and a rich load of external stores. The package also contains photo-etched parts and decals.
The AH-1W Super Cobra was a dedicated attack helicopter of the US Marine Corps that entered service in 1986 and served until 2020, when the AH-1Z Viper replaced it. Its hallmarks are a slender fuselage with seats in tandem, a two-blade rotor and a pair of engines. The machine carried a wide range of weapons including anti-tank and anti-aircraft missiles and a cannon turret under the nose.
Join the parts with liquid cement for plastic and the fine metal parts with super glue. Work the detailed cockpit up and paint it before closing the fuselage. Protect the glazing with a mask. Lay the gray Marine Corps finish down with an airbrush, bring out the panels and add wear with pigments and washes.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
