About product

Aber metal mesh (net) 0.8 x 0.5 mm

A very fine etched brass mesh from the Polish firm Aber with rectangular 0.8 x 0.5 mm apertures. It is a versatile modeling material, not a model or a kit. The small rectangular apertures suit fine grilles and screens in smaller scales, where plastic cannot reach the necessary fineness. The metal version looks more realistic and holds its shape.

Use

  • Fine grilles and grates of engine decks
  • Screens of radiators, ventilation and filters in smaller scales
  • Detailed scenic elements for dioramas
  • Suitable above all for fine work and smaller scales

Usage tips

Cut the shape you need with metal shears or with a sharp knife on a hard surface. The mesh can be shaped slightly with a rounded tool and is glued with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Degrease the brass before painting and spray it with a primer.

Who it is for

For advanced modelers who want to replace coarse plastic grilles with a fine metal mesh. It calls for working with metal and super glue.

This is a modeling material, not a model or a kit. It serves as an accessory to a build of your own.
