The set holds resin figures of Russian Aerospace Forces pilots with added survival gear, which the manufacturer designates with the abbreviation PSO, in 1:48 scale. It is not an aircraft kit but an accessory for one. The added gear changes the silhouette of the figure against an ordinary flight rig.
On a combat aircraft the flight suit and the vest are joined by survival gear for the case of an emergency escape from the machine. The pilot wears it on his body, so straps, pouches and other bulky items are added to the figure. These details are exactly what sets a man about to go on a combat sortie apart from a pilot in ordinary flying clothing. In a diorama the figure therefore carries information of its own about the nature of the flight.
Wash the 3D-printed figures in warm soapy water and cut the print supports away with a sharp blade, carefully around the fingers and the gear. Sand them with respiratory protection and glue them with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Apply a thin primer as the base, paint the faces and hands with a brush and lighten the shades step by step, and finish the flight suit with a dark wash in the folds. Add gloss varnish to the helmet and the visor.
The figures are supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
