About product

3DF Seats for the He 219 with Separate Belts, 1:48 (for the Tamiya Kit)

A set of 3D-printed seats for the night fighter Heinkel He 219 from Czech manufacturer 3DF, in 1:48 scale. It is a detailed cockpit accessory intended for the He 219 kit from Tamiya — it is not an airplane model, and the plastic kit is not included in the package. The parts are made by resin 3D printing, which can capture even very fine structure.

Why separate belts

On simpler seats, the seat belts are often molded directly onto the seat shell. Such belts are flat, attached to the seat pan along their entire length, and look as if they were made of sheet metal — they cannot be draped, hung over the edge, or spread apart. Here, the belts are printed as separate parts. You glue them on only after the seat is fitted, and you can choose how they lie: carelessly thrown to the side for an empty cockpit, or pulled tight, as if someone were just sitting in the seat. It is exactly this slack and random arrangement of the belts that gives the cockpit life and sets the model apart from a straight-from-the-box build.

The real subject

The Heinkel He 219 Uhu was a German twin-engine night fighter of the Second World War, one of the first production aircraft equipped with ejection seats and a nose landing gear. The two-man crew — pilot and radar operator — sat back to back, so the cockpit is clearly visible on a model with the canopy open, and the seats play the leading role in it.

Use and fitting

  • Replaces the kit's plastic seats with more faithful printed parts, including separate belts.
  • Carefully separate the parts from the print supports — the belts are thin and break easily.
  • Before painting, wash with lukewarm water and dish soap and let dry.
  • Glue with cyanoacrylate (super glue); plastic cement does not bond resin.
  • Glue the belts on last, after painting the seat — this makes it easier to arrange them into a natural position.

Who the set is for

For modelers building the Tamiya He 219 in 1:48 scale who want the cockpit to match the level of the rest of the model. Working with the thin printed belts requires tweezers, patience, and good light — this is an accessory for more experienced modelers.

This is not an airplane model, but an accessory for one. The kit, glue, and paints are not included in the package. The printed parts are fragile — use respiratory protection and protect your eyes when sanding and cutting.

FAQ

The seat belts are not molded onto the seat shell, but printed as separate parts. You can therefore arrange and drape them into a natural position — draped over the edge of the seat or pulled tight. Belts molded directly onto the seat look flat and cannot be adjusted.

It is not. It is a detailed cockpit accessory — separate 3D-printed seats with belts. The plastic He 219 kit is not included in the package and must be purchased separately.

For the Heinkel He 219 kit in 1:48 scale from manufacturer Tamiya. Fit into kits from other manufacturers is not guaranteed.

Carefully and with tweezers. First separate the parts from the print supports, wash them, and let them dry. Paint the seat, and only afterward glue on the belts with cyanoacrylate and gently shape their sag.
