The German M35 or M40 helmet with a cloth camouflage cover in 1:35 scale. A separate part for completing figures, supplied unpainted.
Responsibility details are not available.
The steel helmet that the German army introduced in 1935 got a simplified form in 1940, designated M40. The shape of the shell with its drawn-out rim stayed and mainly the arrangement of the ventilation holes changed. In the field a cloth camouflage cover was often pulled over the helmet, which broke up its shiny outline and allowed grass or twigs to be tucked under the straps.
The set brings the helmet with its cover in 1:35 scale as a separate detail part. It replaces the simplified helmet from a kit, but it also finds a use as an object set aside in a scene, on a belt or in the hand of a figure.
If you are fitting the helmet to a figure, get the angle of the head right before the glue sets, or the figure will look unnatural. Degrease the surface and apply a thin primer. Paint the cover after the pattern of the camouflage cloth you choose; the folds come out with a darker glaze in the gaps and a light lightening of the stretched areas.
The accessory will be used by modelers of figures and dioramas of the Second World War in 1:35 scale who are bothered by the soft shape of the helmet from the box. There are no figures, paints or glue in the package, unless stated otherwise.
