A display board gives a finished model the surroundings in which it stops floating in the empty air of a cabinet. The motif of a parking space by a house, in the type 1 version, is prepared for 1:24 scale, that is for the most widespread scale of car models. It suits a collection behind glass just as well as the camera, where it takes the place of an improvised paper backdrop.
The board measures 280 x 180 mm and is 3 mm thick, and the package weighs 170 g. In 1:24 scale the area of the board corresponds to roughly 6.7 x 4.3 meters of real size, so a passenger car will park on it comfortably with room to spare around it. The board is finished and nothing on it has to be painted or assembled.
Just stand the model on the board; gluing is not necessary. If you want to take the result further, add small items in the same scale, such as figures, tools or litter, and match them in color to the surface of the board. When photographing, it pays to hold the camera low at the level of the car and to keep the edge of the board out of the frame, so that the scene looks like a detail of a larger space.
The board suits builders of car models in 1:24 scale as well as collectors of finished models. It also comes into its own as a consistent background for a series of photographs, where every model is to stand in the same surroundings.
