A set of fifteen American ammunition boxes for a .30 caliber belt in 1:35 scale. Small equipment for dioramas, vehicle beds and firing positions.
Responsibility details are not available.
The sheet metal ammunition box for a .30 caliber belt was among the most widespread equipment of the American army of the Second World War. It was carried to .30 caliber Browning machine guns on infantry mounts and on vehicle holders, at firing positions it was stacked in piles, and its silhouette with a hinged lid and a folding handle appears in period photographs from Normandy to the Pacific.
Fifteen boxes in one package, in 1:35 scale. A number like that is enough to fill the bed of a truck, for a pile at a machine gun position and for spreading over several scenes at once.
The parts are not polystyrene and cement for plastic has no effect on them. Use super glue and degrease the bonded surfaces beforehand. A primer is worth it as well, as without one the paint holds poorly on a smooth surface. In the American army the boxes were painted olive green; edges picked out dry and fine scuffs on the corners give them mass.
For builders of dioramas and vehicles in 1:35 scale who are missing small equipment to fill a scene. It finds a use with supply trucks, with armored personnel carriers and with a standalone display scene with a machine gun crew. The package does not hold a model, figures, paints or glue, unless stated otherwise.
