The Opel Blitz was the most widespread German truck of the Second World War and carried everything from supplies to workshops. When marching columns had to be protected against attacks from the air, a 2 cm automatic gun was mounted on the bed. The Flak 38 differed from the older Flak 30 mainly in its higher rate of fire, and on a truck it gained a mobility that a towed mount never had: the truck stopped, the crew folded the sides down and the gun could fire in all directions.
Conversion parts for the rebuild into the version with the 2 cm Flak 38 gun in 1:72 scale. The set is not a standalone model; it is built onto a base kit of the Opel Blitz truck, which has to be obtained separately.
Wash and degrease the parts before the build, or the paint will not hold. Super glue proves best for joining them to the base kit, because two different materials are being bonded. Check the seating of the superstructure dry before bonding and only then fix the joint. Paint the barrel of the gun separately from the truck and leave it darker, so that it stands apart from the bed.
