Detail set for the Brewster F2A-1 Buffalo fighter in 1:72 scale, built for the Hasegawa and Hobby 2000 kits. It combines cast resin parts, 3D-printed parts and photo-etch.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Brewster F2A Buffalo was a stocky American-built carrier fighter of the late 1930s, the first monoplane of its kind in naval service. The F2A-1 version was the earliest and differs from later machines in shape and equipment. It is exactly in the small details of the cockpit and the surface that a model built only from the kit can be told from one that has been supplemented.
The set brings together three technologies, and each of them is handled differently. It is intended for the Hasegawa and Hobby 2000 kits in 1:72 scale.
Cast parts are separated from the casting blocks with a fine saw and have to be washed before gluing, so that the mold release agent is removed. Printed parts are taken off the supports with a sharp knife and washed as well. Photo-etch is bent over a metal edge and glued with cyanoacrylate glue, because cement for plastic does not work here. Dry-fit everything that is to be glued, because neither resin nor sheet metal forgives a dry correction.
The set is for modelers who have already worked with resin and photo-etch and want to take the detail of a model beyond the level of a production kit. The kit itself, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
