A snap-together kit of the P-51D Mustang fighter in its Normandy landings guise. It is built without glue and without painting.
Responsibility details are not available.
The North American P-51D Mustang was an American single-seat fighter of the late Second World War. It was powered by the Merlin V12 engine, and you can tell the D version by its teardrop canopy, which opened up the pilot's view to the rear. The Normandy landings guise carries conspicuous alternating black and white stripes on the wings and fuselage, by which the antiaircraft defenses were meant to recognize a friendly machine at a glance.
This is a kit from a line that is put together by snapping the parts into one another. You need no glue and no paints; the parts come already colored and the surface markings are supplied by stickers. The model can be taken apart the same way and put back together, so it will stand rougher handling than a conventional glued kit.
Follow the instructions step by step and press the parts home until the joint audibly clicks into place; force is not needed, and if a part goes stiffly, check whether it is turned the right way round. Apply the stickers only to the finished model, and wipe the surface dry beforehand so that the adhesive holds. The finished model stands on a base or on its own landing gear and will take ordinary handling.
The set suits beginners, building together with children, and makes a gift for anyone who wants a finished model quickly and without a workshop. The package contains only the kit and the stickers, unless stated otherwise; paints and glue are not included and are not needed for the assembly.
