A resin set of plugs and chocks for a model of the Su-33 carrier fighter in 1:48 scale from the Russian brand Temp Models. It holds the equipment that the crew puts on a parked aircraft: covers for the openings on the airframe and chocks that keep the machine from moving. The set is printed in resin and belongs with a finished model on the flight line or on a deck.
On the deck of an aircraft carrier, covering the openings and securing the wheels matters more than anywhere else. The machine stands permanently in salt air, the deck pitches and the wind blows across it even in port. Aircraft are therefore tied down on the deck and their openings are covered as soon as the flying shift ends. For a model that means a fit of equipment which plants the scene in a maritime setting at once.
Release the parts from the supports with a new blade over a working surface and sand the mating faces, so that a cover sits down with no gap. Wash the resin in lukewarm soapy water before painting. Spray the brightly colored covers separately and fit them to the model at the very end, so that they do not get dirty during the weathering.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
