The set brings 3D printed service steps for the Su-25 in 1:32 scale from Temp Models. The manufacturer describes them as equipment for work during the ground servicing of aircraft. It is not a model of an aircraft but airfield equipment from which technicians work on the airframe, on the engines and on the weapons.
The Su-25 is a ground-attack aircraft for direct support, which is used intensively in combat and is prepared quickly for the next take-off between sorties. Loading munitions onto ten pylons and checking the engines along the sides of the fuselage cannot be done without steps wheeled up to it. At the field airstrips where the aircraft belongs the facilities tend to be simple, so mobile steps are often all that is available.
The parts are printed from resin and are held only by thin supports. Cut them off with a sharp scalpel as close to the part as possible, sand the marks down with fine sandpaper and protect your airways while sanding. It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Paint holds longer on a smooth print if you lay a thin coat of primer under it. Ground equipment is brought to life by a dark wash run into the recesses and by drybrushing on the edges.
The set is an addition to building a model, not a model in its own right. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted, and glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
