Vallejo True Metallic Metal Light, Ancient Copper (metallic acrylic paint)

This is a water-thinnable acrylic metallic paint from the True Metallic Metal range, which builds on very fine metal pigments and offers a realistic metallic sheen at figure scale. The Ancient Copper shade is a warm antique copper and this Light version is the lighter tone intended for lightening. In the Base, Shade and Light system, Light is the lightening color for edges, high points and places caught by the light, while the base tone lays down the area. The paint is non-toxic, odorless and thinned with water; it comes in an 18 ml dropper bottle.

Use

• Shake the bottle thoroughly before use so that the metallic pigment is stirred up from the bottom.
• Apply with a brush over a smooth, well prepared base; it covers over both a black and a white undercoat.
• Use it as a lightening tone on the edges and lit parts of copper and bronze surfaces.
• Apply metallic paints rather at the end of the build, they are harder to overspray and to mask.
• Once thinned with water it can also be applied with an airbrush; for clean spraying the range has a separate airbrush version.
