An ultraviolet flashlight for the modeling bench. It is used above all for curing glues and compounds that set under ultraviolet light.
Responsibility details are not available.
Ultraviolet light has two main roles on the modeling bench. The first is curing glues and filler compounds that set only once irradiated: as long as you do not shine on them they stay liquid, so you have time to seat the part precisely, and they harden within a few seconds the moment you switch the light on. The second role is inspection. Under ultraviolet light, residues of some cleaning agents, fingerprints and unevenly applied coats stand out clearly, where in ordinary lighting they blend in.
Dry-assemble the joint first and only then apply the glue, because precision of seating matters, not speed. Hold the light perpendicular and as close as possible until the joint sets. Bear in mind that only what the light reaches will cure: under an opaque part or deep in a seam the glue will not set, so such joints are made in layers. Wipe excess compound away before you irradiate it, since after curing it can only be removed mechanically.
Do not shine it into your eyes, do not aim it at people around you and do not look straight into the source. Work so that the beam points at the model and not out from the bench. Let the light run only for as long as curing really needs, and do not leave the flashlight switched on lying on the bench. The specific figures for power supply, wavelength and curing time are given in the manufacturer's instructions; follow them when choosing the glue as well.
Check on the package whether a power source is included. Glues, paints and protective equipment are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
