A package of thirty-five separate grass tufts 2 mm tall, in a dry green tone for scenery and bases.
Responsibility details are not available.
Grass on a diorama gives the scale away faster than anything else. A two millimeter tuft corresponds, in larger scales, to low growth that has been trodden down or checked by drought, the kind that grows at the edge of a dirt track, between the ruts left by tracks or on a slope where the sun has scorched everything green. The dried green shade suits late summer and a dry climate.
The package contains thirty-five pieces. The tufts are separate, so you do not plant them as a continuous carpet but one at a time where they make sense, leaving bare earth between them. It is exactly this irregular rhythm that separates a convincing scene from a green tablecloth.
The same range offers the same shade in greater heights too, which are listed under further part numbers. By combining two or three heights on one area you get a depth that one size alone will never give.
One more piece of advice on placement. Grass does not grow evenly; it keeps to edges, hollows and places where neither water from a gutter runs nor a foot treads. A tuft set at the foot of a wall, in a track mark or by a fence post always looks better than a tuft in the middle of an open area. Before you reach for the glue, lay all thirty-five pieces out dry, and only once the arrangement convinces you, start fixing them one by one.
