YELLOW COLOR SET – ARTISTIC DENSE ACRYLIC COLOR

The yellow set of Artistic Dense acrylic paints

A set of bottled acrylics thinnable with water from the Artistic Dense figure range by AK interactive. These are paints, not a kit. In a modeling palette yellow is a special case: it is the lightest rich color, so it has the least room for lightening, and at the same time it is among the pigments that behave worst over a dark surface. A set of several yellow shades therefore makes sense, because transitions within yellow are made by shifting toward ocher and orange, not by adding white.

Use

• Apply yellow shades onto a light surface. Over a black base they need incomparably more layers and the result tends to be blotchy.
• Build the transitions by mixing ocher or orange into the shadow, as white bleaches a yellow and strips it of its richness.
• Make the layers thin and let them become tacky. A heavy layer of yellow dries unevenly and brush strokes stay in it.
• When mixing with green work in small amounts, as yellow has a strong tinting power and quickly overwhelms a green.
• Mix the paint before work, as yellow pigments are among those that settle fastest in the bottle.
• For a brush thin with water or acrylic thinner; for an airbrush thin the denser paint more considerably.

Who the set is for

For figure painters who need a reliable yellow block in their palette for fabrics, insignia, shields and accessories, and for modelers who mix their own sand and ocher tones. It is also practical for anyone who struggles with a single bottle of yellow because of uneven coverage.

The paints are intended for modeling use. Keep them out of the reach of children, work in a well-ventilated area and close the bottles carefully after use.
