A cutting blade from the Etch Slide tool line. It is used for cutting and trimming while building models.
Responsibility details are not available.
Etch Slide is a tool line and this item is its cutting blade. It belongs among tools for parting material and for trimming. What exactly an individual blade is shaped for and which holder it belongs in is governed by the manufacturer's instructions, so go through them before you first use it.
A cutting blade takes material away in small steps. Guide it lightly and let the tool itself do the work: pressure will not speed the cut up, it only leads the blade off its path and the edge comes out wavy. Always support the material firmly, because a part that bends under the blade will crack before it is cut through. On long straight cuts it is worth running the blade along a metal ruler. Draw the straight edge in advance and make the first pass with no more than marking pressure, so that the mark settles; only the later passes deepen it.
The blade is sharp and when it slips off the material it easily digs into your hand, so cut away from yourself and keep your other hand out of the path of the tool. After work, wipe the dust off the blade and put it down so that the cutting edge does not touch other tools. Change a blunt blade rather than forcing it through; a blunt tool is more dangerous than a sharp one.
For a modeler who is building up a set of cutting equipment, and for owners of tools from the same line as a top-up. The holder, further blades and other tools are not included, unless stated otherwise.
