The photo-etched F-100C landing gear 1:32 set refines the landing gear and the landing gear bays of a model of the North American F-100C Super Sabre. It is an accessory for a model, not an aircraft kit.

This set of photo-etched parts is intended for building up the landing gear of an F-100C Super Sabre model in 1:32 scale. The landing gear and its bays are among the most closely watched places on a model in large scales, because they are clearly visible on a finished piece. By the nature of the process, injection-molded plastic simplifies the thin stiffeners, loops, doors and runs here, and it is exactly these elements that the set covers in thin sheet. It is used as an addition to, or a replacement for, the parts of the base kit.
The F-100 Super Sabre was the first production supersonic aircraft of the US Air Force. The F-100C version was created as a fighter-bomber: it received a strengthened wing with external pylons and the ability to refuel in flight. The sturdy tricycle landing gear with a nose leg had to carry the higher takeoff weight the aircraft worked with in the fighter-bomber role, and it is therefore a prominent structural feature on the real machine.
Cut the parts out as close to the tab as possible and sand the edge down on a glass surface. Make the bends over a steel rule or in a bender, gradually and without levering. Degrease the metal with alcohol, lay on a thin primer and only then paint, or the paint will rub off the smooth sheet. Apply cyanoacrylate with a pin in very small drops. It pays to finish and paint the landing gear bays before the fuselage and wing are closed up, because afterwards they are hard to reach. A gentle wash at the end will help pull the structure out.
