A product for one specific and very annoying problem: the small round craters in freshly applied paint that painters call fisheyes. They form wherever a trace of silicone is left on the surface, from a polish, from a lubricant, from your hands or from around the workplace. The paint pulls away from such a spot and a dimple is left in the middle of a smooth surface. The additive evens out the surface tension of the paint, so that it flows out even across a contaminated spot.
The best defense against fisheyes is a clean substrate and clean surroundings, which is why the additive should not be used as a substitute for degreasing. It makes sense where the problem keeps coming back: in a shared workshop, in a space where other goods are handled too, or on a part with an unknown history. You will see the difference mainly on the large smooth surfaces of car bodies and cowlings, where every dimple shows at once.
Work in a ventilated space, use respiratory protection and follow the instructions on the packaging.
