Dark green foliage clusters, bag holding 832 cm³. Loose scenery material for tree crowns, bushes and undergrowth.
Responsibility details are not available.
Foliage clusters in a dark shade give greenery the volume that a flat spray coat could never reach. The material is granular and irregular, so gluing it down produces a broken surface with shadows, the kind real vegetation has at the close of summer. The figure on the packaging is 832 cm³, which at the usual density of growth is enough for several smaller scenes.
The deeper green proves itself as a bottom layer. It hides the armature of a tree and the wire frame under it, and a lighter shade then goes on top so that the crown looks sunlit. It serves just as well on hedges, on shaded slopes and along the edge of a wood, where growth should recede into depth. On the sunlit side of a scene it is sensible to blend in a warmer tone, otherwise the whole area darkens into one flat patch with no drawing in it. In larger scales it pays to tear the clumps into smaller pieces so that the shape of individual branches stays visible.
A clump is torn to the size needed, pressed onto a surface coated with glue, and once dry the excess is gently tapped off. A firm bond comes from thinned white glue brushed on; over large areas spray adhesive is usually faster. Do not squeeze the material, pressure destroys the airy texture it is bought for. The crumbs left in the bottom of the bag are useful for filling small gaps at the foot of a trunk.
