A mold for casting rock formations for a diorama and a layout. Reusable; choose the casting compound according to the instructions of its manufacturer.
Responsibility details are not available.
Rocks are hard to carve on a scene and even harder to repeat. A mold bypasses that step: you simply pour casting compound into it and once set you take out a finished rock formation with the pattern of crevices and strata. Because the mold can be used again, you assemble a whole face from several castings without having to shape every stone separately.
Lay the mold on a flat surface, so that the casting does not come out skewed. Mix and pour the casting compound according to the instructions of its manufacturer, drive the air bubbles out of the deepest places with your fingers or by tapping and let the compound set. Dampening the mold before pouring makes it easier to take the casting out; the procedure and the recommended compound are given in the instructions of the manufacturer of the mold. After taking the casting out, rinse the mold, so that no remains stay in the hollows and spoil the next casting.
The castings can be broken and laid side by side; level the seams between them with the same compound you cast with and the transition will then not be visible. If a casting comes out porous, it takes thinned coats excellently, as they soak into the crevices and accent the pattern. Finally go over the edges and the projections with a dry brush in a lighter shade.
The casting compound, paints, a diorama and a model are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
