A flexible sanding board from the brand DSPIAE in 180 grit. It is a modeling tool, not a kit or a part for a model. The flexible backing bends to the shape of a part, so the abrasive works on curved faces as well, and the board is held in the hand considerably better than a loose sheet of abrasive paper.
What 180 grit means
The number gives the coarseness of the abrasive. 180 grit is coarse and takes material off fast. It belongs at the very beginning of a sanding sequence, where something really has to be removed, and it always has to be followed by a progression through finer grits, because it leaves marked scratches.
For modelers who fill and reshape parts and want their sanding sequence divided up by grit. A coarse board is the first step, after which one moves to medium and fine abrasive. Use it carefully on thin-walled parts and on faces with engraved detail, as a coarse abrasive wipes those away quickly.
Sanding produces a fine dust that must not be breathed in, so work in a well ventilated room. After sanding, free the surface thoroughly of dust.
