A fine scatter in a warm sandy shade for dirt roads and country roads. A content of 176 cm3 of stone and 29.4 cm3 of powder.

A light ocher color gives away limestone, sandstone or ordinary dried-out soil mixed with stone. That is what dirt roads look like, the avenues to homesteads, the approaches to sand pits and the roadways in dry regions, where the sun bleaches the surface to a buff and every car going by raises dust behind it. On a model this shade has one more advantage: it optically brightens an area that would look heavy and cold in gray, and it goes nicely with the green of grasses.
The content is 176 cm3 of finely graded scatter, with which 29.4 cm3 of accompanying powder in the same color tuning is packed. The powder finds a use on the shoulders and in the places where vehicles have worn the surface down to the base. The quantity is enough for 4.26 meters of road 5.08 cm wide.
A real road does not have the same color along its whole length. Apply the material in several doses, let the soil of the base show through between them and add a pinch of a darker shade into the ruts. A little static grass in the middle of the roadway suggests that nobody drives here every day. Around small bridges and culverts the surface tends to be broken up and churned, so reach for coarser stone there and let it pass freely into the fine layer.
